What is a solar heater?
It’s a system which uses the sun heat to warm up the water. The solar heating system is composed by two main equipments: the solar collector (flat plate collectors or absorbers) and the thermal tank.
How does the solar heater work?
The solar collector absorbs the sun heat to warm up the water. The water temperature can reach 60ºC, depending on the weather, installation and consumption.
The thermal tank keeps the hot water, allowing it to be used anytime, according to the consumers’ habits.

Does the solar heater work in the winter, rainy or cloudy days?
Yes. The solar heater works the whole year. During very rainy and cloudy days, the water gets warm, but it can be necessary to increase the water temperature to assure the shower comfort. In this situation, the auxiliary heater (which can be an electric resistance or the electric shower itself) can be activated. This situation happens only few times a year.
Can the solar heater generate electric energy?
No, the thermal solar heater can only produce hot water. There are specific solar heaters for this application, but they are not part of Transsen’s portfolio.
Is there any way to install the Solar Heater without breaking the bathroom wall?
Yes, there is an option to install the external mixer, which avoids breaking the wall and makes the solar heater installation easier. In order to do so, it is only necessary to make a small hole in the slab. Then the mixer is connected to the existent cold water tube.
